چکیده
Background: Ischemic stroke account for about 87% of all cases. This study will focus on ischemic due to small vessel occlusion as one the subtypes based TOAST (trial ORG 10172 in acute treatment). Objective: To determine characteristics patients caused by and are expected be used a basis further research. Methods: A descriptive observational retrospective regarding at Sanglah Hospital. Secondary data were obtained from patient medical records. Results: The total number cases was 338. majority sample men (64.5%) between 40-60 years old (53.6%). Most samples who had experienced an first time (75.1%) with NIHSS (National Institute Health Stroke Scale) scores showing mild (48.2%) moderate (51.5%) symptoms. Around half them history hypertension (60.1%), dyslipidemia (59.5%), diabetes mellitus (44.1%). most common location infarction anterior circulation (77.5%) almost same ratio right left hemisphere locations. Conclusion: vessels Hospital Denpasar 3 35.2% Half classic vascular risk factors. Further research is needed another effective treatment strategy other than just secondary prevention such life style moderation prevent recurrency.

The Effect of Priacetam in Aphasia due to Acute Brain Ischemic Stroke: Clinical trial
Background & Aims: Stroke incidence is 15 million people world wide annually and one third of these patients suffer from aphasia. Aphasia is often associated with significant disability in patients. Costs due to cerebrovascular diseases play an important role in national health expenditures. We aimed to assess the effect of piracetam in treatment of aphasia. Methods: Patients with acute ischemi...
متن کاملOccurrence of intracranial large vessel occlusion in consecutive, non-referred patients with acute ischemic stroke
Background: The relative frequency of acute intracranial large vessel occlusion (LVO) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) who could be candidate for intra-arterial treatment (IAT) is not well known. In this study, we determined clinical variables associated with LVO and the proportion of patients with LVO among patients presenting with AIS within 6 h of symptom onset. Methods: Data of ...
متن کاملEffect of Extended CT Perfusion Acquisition Time on Ischemic Core and Penumbra Volume Estimation in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke due to a Large Vessel Occlusion
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE It has been suggested that CT Perfusion acquisition times <60 seconds are too short to capture the complete in and out-wash of contrast in the tissue, resulting in incomplete time attenuation curves. Yet, these short acquisitions times are not uncommon in clinical practice. The purpose of this study was to investigate the occurrence of time attenuation curve truncation in...
متن کاملIntravenous Thrombolysis for Acute Ischemic Stroke due to Cardiac Myxoma; A Case Report
Myxoma may cause systemic embolization and frequently presents as ischemic stroke. There has been debates whether it is safe to use recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) in patients with cardiac myxoma who are presented with ischemic stroke at emergency department. we describe a young case of atrial myxoma with initial presentation of acute cerebral infarction symptoms who was treate...
متن کاملNational Institutes of Health stroke scale score and vessel occlusion in 2152 patients with acute ischemic stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE There is some controversy on the association of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score to predict arterial occlusion on MR arteriography and CT arteriography in acute stroke. METHODS We analyzed NIHSS scores and arteriographic findings in 2152 patients (35.4% women, mean age 66 ± 14 years) with acute anterior or posterior circulation strokes. RES...
